Distance Resources

Bosworth Memorial Library at the Lexington Theological Seminary follows the American Library Association standards for distance learning library services. Students enrolled in online courses will have equivalent access to library resources and services that support the academic programs and mission of the Seminary.

Access to the LTS collection will be provided through Document Delivery services for material held in the LTS library and through InterLibrary Loan for material held by other institutions. Students may request a title by selecting the Request option in the OPAC. Books will be sent by USPS priority mail within 1 business day of receipt of the request. Journal articles housed in our Library will be scanned and sent as PDF attachments and emailed to a student's lextheo.edu email account. The 'from' address will be "LTSlibrarycopier@lextheo.edu." InterLibrary Loan requests will be placed for distance learning students in the same manner as for on campus students. The material will be shipped to them via USPS priority mail within 1 business day of their arrival at the Library.

Course reserve material will be posted electronically in LTS Online.

Reference assistance will be available via telephone (859.280.1229), email (libraryrefdesk@lextheo.edu) and through library guides posted on the Library web site. Every effort will be made to acquire significant reference sources in digital format for electronic access.

Library Instruction in Information Literacy will be handled by visual tutorials on searching the library catalog and the online databases.
